Video: Firefighters have been battling a fire at the CityHotel Residence in downtown Kyiv for more than six hours

In downtown Kyiv, rescue workers have been battling a fire for more than six hours at the CityHotel Residence, which was damaged during a massive Russian attack overnight.

The building is still smoldering, and units of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service continue to extinguish the fire and deal with the aftermath of the strike.

Rescue workers have been on the scene continuously for over six hours, dousing the structure and extinguishing smoldering hot spots to prevent the fire from reigniting.

No information has been received so far regarding new casualties inside the hotel building. Work is ongoing, and the area remains under the control of emergency services.

In Kyiv, the death toll from Russia’s massive combined attack on the night of July 2 has risen to 13. Another 86 people were injured, 70 of whom have been hospitalized.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called on Western partners not to delay decisions on providing Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities following yet another massive Russian attack on Kyiv.

Public transportation routes in Kyiv were altered following a massive Russian attack on the night of July 2. This was due to damage to the overhead power lines, a power outage, and cleanup efforts following the enemy shelling.
