Video: Ukrainian military intercepts Russian drone in mid-air
A video has surfaced online showing a drone dogfight in a combat zone.
The Ukrainian military is using specially equipped drones to intercept Russian Mavic-type quadcopters right in the sky.
During such operations, a specialized UAV engages the enemy drone and disables it in flight, preventing the occupiers from continuing reconnaissance or fire correction.
The released footage shows the preparation of specialized interception equipment, as well as moments of the successful destruction of Russian reconnaissance and fire-control drones.
Thus, Ukrainian UAV operators are increasingly using interceptor drones to combat enemy reconnaissance aircraft operating in the airspace above the combat zone.
Footage of the successful interception of enemy drones was released by soldiers from the strike unmanned aerial vehicle company of the 2nd Mountain Assault Battalion of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Transcarpathian Brigade.

As a reminder, soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade used FPV drones to destroy a Russian 2S5 “Hyacinth-S” self-propelled artillery system in the Kursk Oblast of the Russian Federation. The Russian military had been using this system to shell Ukrainian positions.
A video has also surfaced online showing the combat operations of a Ukrainian crew operating the “Osa” air defense system, which destroyed a Russian “Geran-4” jet drone. The enemy drone was traveling at a speed of over 500 km/h.
