Video: Ukraine Unveils New Vulcan Armored Vehicle, Capable of Moving Even After Losing Two Tracks
Ukrainian developers have unveiled a new ground-based robotic system (GRS) called “Vulcan,” designed to carry out logistics missions, evacuate cargo, and perform special tasks in the frontline zone. This was reported on August 5 by the specialized publication Defender Media.
The platform’s main feature is its four-track design. Each track is equipped with a separate electric drive, allowing the system to continue moving even after losing two tracks, provided they are damaged diagonally. According to the developers, this design enhances the vehicle’s survivability in combat conditions.
The “Vulcan’s” maximum speed is at least 15 km/h, and its range on compacted ground reaches 100 km.
The designers also opted against a spring suspension to ensure a stiffer chassis, which will allow for the future installation of remotely controlled combat modules on the platform. In addition, development is underway on a lower-profile version of the system with a reduced silhouette to enhance its stealth on the battlefield.
The “Vulcan” is controlled using a combined communications system via Starlink, LTE, and ELRS. This allows the platform to remain under control even if one of the communication channels is lost.
The delivery package includes four chargers, spare parts, a ramp, a tow hitch, and a two-axle covered trailer for transporting the system or additional cargo.
The name of the developer is not disclosed for security reasons. This practice is common among Ukrainian manufacturers of ground-based robotic systems that operate for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian company DG Industry, which specializes in the development of unmanned systems, presented the “Bronislav,” a multifunctional wheeled ground-based robotic system with independent suspension. The platform is designed for logistics and evacuation missions and is capable of carrying over 300 kg of payload.
