Video: Zelenskyy announced a response to Russia for the attack on the National Academy of Sciences building

In downtown Kyiv, the building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine caught fire following a Russian strike. Rescue workers are on the scene, putting out the fire and checking the building—there may be people inside.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy released a video from the scene of the attack and reported that all necessary services are involved in dealing with the aftermath of the strike.

According to the president, Russian troops also attacked civilian targets in Kyiv throughout the day, including a pharmaceutical plant and gas stations. In Dnipro, a business center was hit, while in other cities and regions, civilian enterprises and communications facilities were targeted.

There have been fatalities as a result of the Russian attacks. Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and emphasized that Russia must be held accountable for the strikes on civilian targets.

“Russia will certainly face a response to this. And each of Ukraine’s partners must see, in light of this terror and these strikes, that support for Ukraine is truly support for people’s lives,” the president said.

In Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, a fire broke out at an industrial facility after debris from a downed Russian drone fell on the premises. The fire occurred in the industrial zone. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.

In the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, debris was reported to have fallen on an educational institution following a Russian attack. Information regarding the extent of the damage and possible casualties is being verified.
