Russian forces fired on the Chernihiv region more than 20 times over the past 24 hours, causing damage
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army has carried out heavy shelling of border and frontline areas in the Chernihiv region.
Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the nighttime and morning attacks on his Telegram channel.
A total of 23 enemy strikes were recorded, resulting in 28 explosions that caused damage to residential areas and fires.
“Over the past 24 hours, there were 23 strikes on the Chernihiv region. 28 explosions. Homes in the Nizhyn and Chernihiv districts were damaged as a result of an enemy drone attack,” the regional head noted.
The most critical situation unfolded in the Nizhyn district, specifically in the Borzna area, where the enemy struck an ordinary rural yard in the middle of the night.
As a result of the strike, a residential house and a farm building belonging to local residents immediately caught fire.
The terror continued into the morning, when Russian troops attacked a settlement in the Kozelets community. There, numerous damages to the homes of civilians were recorded, who found themselves under fire directly in their own homes.
Emergency services are currently working at the sites of the strikes, extinguishing fires and documenting the consequences of war crimes.
Law enforcement officials are documenting every instance of destruction for subsequent submission of evidence to international bodies.
As a reminder, Russian troops carried out another combined attack on Ukraine, using strike drones and cruise missiles.
Additionally, in Znamianka, 20 buildings were damaged following a drone attack, according to the Regional Military Administration.
