After Threatening Putin, Russian Occupier Lunin Convicted for Nazi Symbolism

On June 29 in Russia, Alexander Lunin, a participant in the war against Ukraine who had posted a video message to Vladimir Putin warning of a possible military mutiny, was convicted under an administrative law provision regarding the display of extremist or Nazi symbols.

The decision was handed down by the Rossoshansky District Court in the Voronezh Region. According to the court, the case was heard on June 27, but the text of the ruling has not been made public.

Earlier reports indicated that Lunin had been detained for 11 days. His home was also searched, during which electronic devices and data storage media were seized.

In his statement, the soldier alleged violence on the part of the command and threatened that if the Kremlin failed to respond, “the army would turn its weapons against him.” The video garnered millions of views on social media.
