Animals were killed when a drone struck the Kharkiv Zoo (photo)
At approximately 6:05 p.m. on June 15, Russian forces launched a strike using a "Geran-2" drone against the Kharkiv Zoo, damaging enclosures and killing animals. According to preliminary data, 10 rabbits were killed, another 15 animals were injured, and an elephant exhibited an acute stress response.
“As a result of the enemy attack, the windows and facade of the ‘Vivarium’ enclosure were damaged; at the time of the strike, there were 150 rabbits, 250 guinea pigs, 700 rats, and 250 mice inside... As a result of the Russian UAV attack on the zoo, 10 rabbits were killed... another 15 were injured. The glass and facade of the elephant enclosure, located next to the site of the strike, were also damaged. “The animal suffered an acute stress reaction,” the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.

According to the press service, no people were injured.


A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the commission of a war crime (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Earlier in Kherson, Russians attacked a bus and an ambulance, resulting in one death and several injuries.
The State Emergency Service has released the names of the rescuers who died as a result of the strike on Kharkiv.
