Over the past 24 hours, the enemy has launched more than 40 attacks on the Sumy region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have carried out heavy shelling of border areas in the Sumy region, attacking 23 settlements.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, 14 local communities came under enemy fire, where extensive damage and injuries among the civilian population were reported.
In the Hlukhiv community, a 54-year-old woman and two children—a 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy—were injured as a result of an attack by a Russian UAV.
It was also reported that a 67-year-old woman died in the hospital; she had been wounded on May 7 during a drone strike in the Velyka Pysarivka community.
The occupiers used a wide range of weapons, including guided aerial bombs, artillery, mortars, and various types of drones.
The highest concentration of strikes occurred in the Sumy and Shostka districts, where the enemy deliberately destroyed residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.
In the Seredyna-Buda and Esman communities, the complete destruction of private homes and farm buildings was recorded.
Significant damage was sustained by an educational institution in the Hlukhiv community, a cultural center in Velyka Pysarivka, as well as agricultural equipment and civilian vehicles in other districts of the region.
Due to constant shelling and the growing danger, local authorities are continuing efforts to evacuate residents from the most dangerous areas.
Over the past 24 hours, seven people have been evacuated from border communities and are currently receiving necessary assistance and temporary housing in safer regions.
