Russian military casualties have exceeded 1.33 million—according to the General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated information on the total losses of the Russian army since the start of the full-scale invasion, specifically since February 24, 2022. As of May 1, 2026, according to estimates by the Ukrainian military, Russia has already lost approximately 1,331,710 servicemen, 1,420 of whom were lost over the past 24 hours.


In addition to manpower, enemy equipment losses remain significant. Specifically, Ukrainian defenders have destroyed 11,903 tanks (2 in the last day), 24,496 armored combat vehicles (+3), and 41,044 artillery systems, 100 of which were eliminated within the past 24 hours.

Enemy losses also include 1,757 multiple launch rocket systems (+1), 1,357 air defense systems (+1), 435 aircraft, and 352 helicopters (no change).
Russia has also suffered significant losses in unmanned aerial vehicles—265,284 tactical-level UAVs have already been destroyed, 1,924 of them in just the past 24 hours. Additionally, 4,579 cruise missiles have been neutralized.

Naval losses remain unchanged—33 ships and boats, as well as 2 submarines. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces destroyed 93,009 vehicles and fuel tankers (+403) and 4,150 units of specialized equipment, 2 of which were destroyed in the last 24 hours.

Russia has lost over 1,000 more troops and two air defense systems in the war against Ukraine.

As a reminder, in the village of Dobrye in the Graivoronsky District of the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation, two men were wounded when two guided aerial bombs struck.

In three border districts of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast—Shebekinsky, Borisovsky, and Graivoronsky—installation of anti-drone corridors has begun.

As a reminder, on the night of March 8, a powerful missile strike was launched against energy facilities in Belgorod and the Belgorod District.

Due to the shelling, Belgorod was left without electricity and heating.

Additionally, a gas pipeline was damaged in the Belgorod region, and schools are closed.
