The first stolen Ukrainian grain taken from Mariupol

Russian occupiers have exported the first ship carrying wheat from the temporarily occupied port of Mariupol. Over 5,000 tons of grain were inspected and a phytosanitary certificate was issued.

This was reported by Ukrainian Shipping Magazine, and Russian media also covered it on January 16.

According to the provided information, a ship carrying Ukrainian wheat departed from Mariupol. The Rosselkhoznadzoragency claimed that the export was accompanied by documents confirming the phytosanitary condition of the quarantined products.

The occupying authorities stated that over 5,000 tons of wheat were inspected at Mariupol’s seaport, and one phytosanitary certificate was issued for the shipment.

President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the “Grain from Ukraine” program will be adapted for cooperation with the Syrian administration. He also highlighted Ukraine’s interest in establishing grain hubs in African countries.
