The General Staff provided an update on the hottest sector of the front
As of 4:00 p.m. on May 4, 59 clashes were recorded on the front lines, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Huliaipole sector, where Ukrainian forces repelled most of the assaults. Since the start of the day, Russian troops have carried out dozens of attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces.
This is stated in the official report from the General Staff.
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in the Sumy region, the settlements of Korenok, Bachivsk, Atynske, Budky, Sopych, Prohres, and Vilna Sloboda were hit.
In the Chernihiv region—Zoria, Berylivka, and Hremyach.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, two clashes took place; the enemy carried out 49 attacks on settlements and the positions of our troops, five of which involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanskyi sector, the enemy stormed the positions of our units three times in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka and Starytsia. According to the General Staff, the enemy did not carry out any active operations in the Kupianskyi sector today.
In the Lyman direction, the invaders are making two attempts to advance in the area of the settlement of Yampil. In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of the settlements of Kryva Luka and Riznykivka. In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders stopped two enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Nykyforivka and Virolyubivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out ten attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, and Stepanivka. In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the occupiers have attempted 14 times to dislodge our troops from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Udachne, Novopavlivka, Novooleksandrivka, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, and Muravka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched four attacks in the areas of the settlements of Sichneve, Yegorivka, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Zlagoda.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 19 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Zaliznychne, Hirke, Staroukrainka, Olenokostyantynivka, Yablukove, Sviatopetrivka, and Charivne. One engagement is ongoing. In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attempted to advance near the settlement of Shcherbaky. In the Dnipro sector, the enemy did not conduct any active operations.
In other sectors, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.
As a reminder, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of a Russian tactical group, a convoy, and a UAV command post.
Russian troops advanced near Riznykivka in the Donetsk region. Analysts at DeepState reported the change in the situation after updating the map of combat operations.
Over the past 24 hours, on May 1, Russian troops carried out 857 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. Dozens of settlements came under fire. In the Zaporizhzhia district, three people were wounded, and there is damage to homes and infrastructure.
