Zelensky: Kyiv has not received official information on US–Kremlin agreements in Alaska

Ukraine has not received any official information through formal channels regarding potential agreements between the US president and Vladimir Putin during their meeting in Alaska.

President Volodymyr Zelensky made the statement during a meeting with journalists in Kyiv, according to a correspondent from European Pravda.

At the same time, he noted that Kyiv has an understanding of which topics may have been key, even without formal communications from its partners.

Commenting on Russian claims about the alleged existence of the “Anchorage formula” concerning the status of Donbas territories, Zelensky stressed that Ukraine has no official information about the actual content of those talks.

He emphasised that Kyiv has seen no direct confirmation or documentation, adding:

"In the end, everyone will find out — it’s only a matter of time. But we already have signals that they were discussing key issues there."

The President clarified that the discussions primarily concerned territorial matters. In his view, the mere fact that sensitive issues for Ukraine were discussed without Kyiv’s participation has created problems that are still being felt.

Zelensky believes that those talks ultimately harmed Ukraine and continue to complicate the defence of the Ukrainian position at the international level.

Ukraine–Russia talks in Abu Dhabi will proceed without US participation.

Negotiations between Ukraine, the US, and Russia are set to continue on 1 February in Abu Dhabi.
