Zelenskyy confirmed that the oil refinery in Ufa, Russia, had been struck again
On July 1, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that an oil refinery in Ufa, Russia, had been struck again. Details of the operation and the consequences of the strike are currently being clarified.
“For the second time, our sanctions in response to Russia’s prolongation of the war have targeted an oil refinery in Ufa—one of Russia’s largest producers of lubricants. It is located more than 1,300 kilometers from the front line,” the President emphasized.
Zelenskyy also noted, “In the Penza region, our weapons struck a strategic facility of the Russian military-industrial complex that develops and manufactures components for missile systems used by the occupiers to strike our cities and communities. The distance to the target is about 600 kilometers from the front line.”
According to the head of state, the plan to deploy Ukrainian long-range strikes is being carried out daily, and this is entirely justified in response to everything Russia is doing against Ukraine.
“Peace is needed, and this is precisely what the Russian leadership must realize. Russia must end its war. And the Russian leadership has every opportunity to do so. I thank every Ukrainian soldier who ensures our long-range precision,” the President stated.
On the night of July 1, Russian troops carried out a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using a ballistic missile, an X-59 air-launched guided missile, and 151 drones of various types.
On the night of July 1, Russian forces carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.
As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian forces attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.
Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
