Zelenskyy warned of a possible large-scale Russian attack within 48 hours
On the evening of July 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian Federation—an aggressor state—has prepared missiles for a new massive strike against Ukraine. According to preliminary information, the strike could take place within the next 48 hours. The president urged citizens to heed air raid sirens and stay safe.
“We know from intelligence and our partners that the Russians have prepared missiles for a new massive strike on Ukraine. This strike could happen today: preliminary information indicates it could occur within 48 hours,” Zelenskyy said in an evening address.
He emphasized that air defense is the top priority in assistance from partners. According to the president, agreements on support must be implemented promptly, and Ukraine’s need to protect lives must be more actively communicated to the world.

Zelenskyy also reported that, according to intelligence, Russia is preparing a new wave of mobilization for the fall. He stated that Russian forces are losing more soldiers on the front lines than they are recruiting, and that Vladimir Putin plans to intensify attacks and expand the war.
On the afternoon of July 24, the Air Force reported a threat of ballistic missile strikes from the north, and later—high-speed targets in the Kyiv region and in Kyiv. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, air defense systems intercepted one Russian ballistic missile, while two others struck the Kyiv region. Russia struck a training ground where events involving weapons manufacturers were taking place. As of 3:00 p.m., 10 people were reported killed and about 100 wounded; two criminal investigations have been opened into the incident.
