Zelenskyy warned that Russia is preparing a new large-scale attack on Ukraine
Russia has prepared missiles for a new massive strike, which could take place within 48 hours. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Ukrainians of this in an evening address.
“We know from intelligence sources and our partners that the Russians have prepared missiles for a new massive strike on Ukraine. This strike could happen today: preliminary information indicates it could occur within 48 hours. Please stay safe—pay attention to air raid sirens,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also added that we are expecting air defense systems from our partners.
“Air defense is the top priority where our partners can help us. All agreements must be fulfilled—and fulfilled promptly. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all our diplomats must act faster, and Ukraine’s needs must be heard more loudly around the world, because these are real needs to protect lives. And it is important that key partner countries are becoming increasingly aware of everything that is actually happening in Ukraine—the Russian strikes against our people and Russia’s prolongation of its war,” Zelenskyy noted.
As a reminder, emergency rescue operations have been completed at the site of a Russian missile strike in the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast. The attack killed 10 people and injured dozens more.
On July 24, at around 11:30 a.m., Russian forces launched an attack on the Kyiv region with three “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles from the north. Air defense forces intercepted one missile; two others struck the Bucha district.
Two Russian ballistic missiles struck a private sports complex in the Kyiv region, not a Ukrainian Armed Forces training ground. This was reported by Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat.
