Zelenskyy: Russia Is Not Winning the War
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on July 31 that, despite the difficult situation in certain sectors of the front, Russian forces have not managed to seize the strategic initiative. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to repel the occupiers’ offensive operations and are carrying out their combat missions.
Zelenskyy noted that if one assesses the course of the war not solely based on the situation in specific sectors of the front, then Ukraine is not losing, and Russia has not gained the upper hand.
“Between us, victory means not losing our country and our independence. From that perspective, we are winning,” Zelenskyy said. At the same time, he emphasized that the key indicator of the current situation on the battlefield is the Russian troops’ lack of initiative.
“If we assess the real situation on the front lines, the main thing is that the initiative is not in Russia’s hands,” the head of state noted in an interview with Fox News.
Earlier, Zelenskyy announced the casualties suffered by Ukraine and Russia.
It was previously reported that after Russian attacks on the Kharkiv–Poltava highway, not a single gas station remained operational.
As a reminder, Russian drones attacked the Chernihiv region, damaging a gas station and a resort.
The WOG gas station chain in Kyiv and the Kyiv region will temporarily suspend nighttime operations due to the increased risk of enemy shelling.
