Zelenskyy called for tougher sanctions against Russian ballistic missile manufacturers
At a general meeting of ambassadors in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for increased sanctions pressure on Russian companies that manufacture ballistic missiles and drones. According to him, sanctions pressure could affect the ability of Russian and North Korean industries to produce missiles.
According to “European Truth,” Zelenskyy thanked the diplomats for their efforts to disrupt the activities of Russia’s shadow fleet and block Russians working to support the war effort. He stated that the focus now must be on ballistic missiles, all types of Russian drones, and related manufacturing facilities, which the president called Putin’s “last resort.”

The president noted that loopholes in sanctions allow the Russian defense industry to circumvent restrictions. According to him, some of the 17 key enterprises involved in the production of ballistic missiles are not subject to sanctions by the U.S., the U.K., Japan, and Switzerland.
Zelenskyy emphasized the need to coordinate sanctions among partners and to apply legal, formal, informal, and public methods of pressure. He stated that banks, financial intermediaries, and transit channels involved in Russian schemes must “feel that they are in trouble.”
