Residents of Vyshneve will receive ₴2.3 billion in compensation for housing damaged during the Russian attack
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to allocate 2.3 billion hryvnia from the state budget’s reserve fund to compensate residents of Vyshneve whose homes and apartments were damaged as a result of the massive Russian attack on July 6.
The funds are to be disbursed under the state program “eRecovery.” In total, the program is expected to cover 23,257 households whose homes were damaged as a result of the Russian attack.
The massive destruction was caused by a fire at the warehouses of one of Ukroboronprom’s enterprises. After the strike, ammunition continued to detonate there for an extended period, causing significant damage to the residential area of Vyshneve.
The compensation provided by the government will be distributed across two categories.
Category A — 1.45 billion hryvnia. This will be distributed to 20,759 households. The funds are earmarked for repairs:
- apartments—up to 200,000 UAH;
- private homes—up to 500,000 UAH.
Category B — 851 million UAH. This part of the program will cover 2,498 households. The funds will be used to repair:
- apartments — from 200,000 to 350,000 UAH;
- private homes — from 200,000 to 500,000 UAH.
Thus, the total funding for affected residents of Vyshneve will amount to 2.3 billion UAH.
As of August 7, residents of Vyshneve had submitted over 1,000 applications for compensation.
Positive decisions have already been made on 154 applications, while another 920 applications were at various stages of review.
At the same time, the number of applications continues to grow. This means that once the review of applications is complete, the number of compensation recipients may increase.
This was reported by Olga Vasilevska-Smaglyuk, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament and deputy chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance.
As a reminder, in the town of Vyshneve in the Bucha District of the Kyiv Region, a fire broke out in two townhouses as a result of an attack by a Russian strike drone. Structural damage was also reported.
Children from families affected by the recent enemy shelling in Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast, will recuperate at the “Artek” International Children’s Center in Zakarpattia. A total of 110 children are scheduled to go on this vacation.
