The Ukrainian Armed Forces have eliminated a Russian serial killer on the front lines
On the front lines, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers killed Yuriy Hrytsenko, known as the “Zelenograd maniac.” After serving his sentence, he joined the war against Ukraine.
Russian media reported on Hrytsenko’s death.
He was officially declared dead on January 25, 2025, though the circumstances of his death have not been disclosed.
After his release from prison, he signed a contract in 2023 and went to war against Ukraine as a mercenary. He was initially assigned to the “Storm Z” unit but was later transferred to a medical evacuation unit due to health issues.
According to Russian sources, he went to war to earn money after his release, as he had no home or property.
Gritsenko was sentenced in 2002 to 22 years in prison for a series of attacks and murders committed in 2001 in Moscow and the surrounding region. At least four people were killed in those incidents.

Earlier, in 1993, he had already been convicted of murder and released early. It is also known that he previously worked in the Russian police, from which he was dismissed for disciplinary violations.
Since the start of the day, there have been 133 combat engagements on the front line, 33 of which were assaults in the Pokrovsk area.
