The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a Russian helicopter in the Sea of Azov and a number of Russian military targets

The Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of successful strikes against Russian military targets, hitting a Russian helicopter in the waters of the Sea of Azov, a railway bridge, command posts, warehouses, and a repair unit in the temporarily occupied territories. Strikes on the “St. Petersburg” oil terminal and the “Kronstadt” base in the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation have also been confirmed.

According to military sources, a Russian helicopter was struck in the waters of the Sea of Azov. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

In addition, Ukrainian defenders struck a railway bridge across the Siverskyi Donets River near Stanytsia Luhanska. According to the General Staff, Russian troops were using this structure to transport personnel, weapons, ammunition, and logistical supplies.

The following were also targeted:

  • two Russian military command posts in the Shakhtarsk area of Donetsk Oblast;
  • a drone depot in Tytarivka;
  • a repair unit in Starobilsk;
  • a fuel and lubricants depot in Luhansk.

Separately, the General Staff confirmed that on the night of July 4, Ukrainian units struck the “St. Petersburg” oil terminal in the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation.

A direct hit on the facility and a subsequent fire on the terminal grounds were recorded. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

The General Staff emphasized that the “St. Petersburg” terminal is one of the largest petroleum product transshipment facilities in the Baltic region. Its designed throughput capacity is 12.5 million metric tons of petroleum products per year, and its tank farm has a total capacity of approximately 441,000 cubic meters. This facility is used to supply the Russian military.

The Ukrainian military also struck the “Kronstadt” base in the Leningrad Oblast.

A fire broke out in the port area following the strike. According to the General Staff, “Kronstadt” is one of the main bases of the Russian Federation’s Baltic Fleet. Information regarding the extent of the damage is being clarified.

The General Staff emphasized that the operation is aimed at weakening Russia’s military and economic potential and disrupting the logistical support for its occupying forces.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have disabled 42.74% of the total design capacity of Russia’s oil refining industry. This figure is the highest since the start of the campaign of systematic strikes against Russian oil infrastructure.

On the night of July 2, drones attacked an oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. This facility is one of the key elements of the Russian Federation’s fuel infrastructure.

On the night of July 1, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian forces attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.

Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
