Ukrainian Forces destroy elite $10 million Russian Electronic Warfare system “Zhitel”
Soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems have successfully carried out an operation on the front line.
According to the 413th Regiment “Raid” unit on Telegram, they located and completely destroyed a Russian R-330Zh “Zhitel” electronic warfare (EW) station.
This system is a rare and extremely expensive target that the occupiers had carefully concealed.
The “Zhitel” complex is designed to jam communications over long distances — up to 25 km for ground channels and up to 50 km for aerial systems. It generates powerful interference for satellite, cellular, and radio communications, severely complicating the operation of Ukrainian drones and command systems.
Thanks to precise reconnaissance and strikes, the 413th Regiment operators turned this “stealth” system into scrap metal.
The cost of a single complex is estimated at around $10 million USD. Since the full-scale invasion began, Ukrainian forces have confirmed the destruction of more than 20 similar systems. Each loss significantly weakens the enemy’s air defence and electronic warfare capabilities.
For context, Ukrainian troops have also eliminated nearly a thousand Russian soldiers and a similar number of drones in a single day. On the Kupiansk axis, Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian artillery gun using FPV drones.
