The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed Russian military equipment and warehouses near Pokrovsk
On September 1, there were 178 combat engagements between Ukrainian and Russian forces along the front lines. The Russians launched the most attacks in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors. In the Pokrovsk sector, according to preliminary data, Ukrainian forces killed 45 invaders and destroyed several pieces of military equipment and two ammunition depots.
Throughout September 1, Russian troops continued to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in various sectors of the front. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 178 combat clashes took place since the start of the day.
The Russian army also launched one missile strike, carried out 68 airstrikes, and dropped 211 guided bombs. In addition, the occupiers used 7,132 kamikaze drones for attacks and shelled Ukrainian military positions and populated areas 2,227 times. The Russians were most active in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors.
The Situation in the East
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian troops carried out two airstrikes and dropped seven bombs. The enemy also carried out 100 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, five of which involved the use of multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the Russians attempted to attack four times toward Volokhivka, Khatne, and Vovchanski Khutory. Two of these attacks were still ongoing at the time of the evening update.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched four offensive operations. Russian forces attempted to advance toward Radkivka, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Kurylivka, and Kivsharivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled six attacks. The Russians attempted to advance toward Novoosynove, Drobysheve, Lyman, and Dibrova. One attack was still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces stopped two Russian attempts to advance in the areas of Ozerny and Mykolaivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy launched one offensive toward Yurkivka.
Kostiantynivka Sector
The Kostiantynivka sector remained one of the hottest sections of the front. Here, the Defense Forces repelled 21 Russian assaults over the past 24 hours. Fighting took place in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka. The Russians also attempted to advance toward Novopavlivka and Vilne.
Pokrovsk Sector
Russian troops were even more active in the Pokrovsk sector. Here, Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 attacks.
The occupiers attempted to advance toward Novyi Donbas, Serhiivka, Novopidhorodne, and Novopavlivka. Assaults also took place in the areas of Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, and Horikove. Three combat engagements were still ongoing at the time this report was prepared.
Ukrainian forces also inflicted casualties on the Russians. According to preliminary data, 45 occupiers were killed in this sector of the front, and another 23 Russian soldiers were wounded. In addition, the Defense Forces destroyed six vehicles and two ammunition depots.
Two more Russian vehicles were damaged. Ukrainian forces also struck 35 enemy personnel shelters. According to the General Staff, 346 drones of various types were destroyed or neutralized in the Pokrovsk direction over the past 24 hours.
Situation in the South
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive operations.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces repelled nine attacks. The Russians attempted to advance toward Vozdvizhivka, Rizdvyanka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces stopped one Russian attempt to advance toward Pavlivka.
In the Dnipro sector, no enemy offensive operations were recorded.
What’s Happening on the Front Lines
Thus, on September 1, the Russian army carried out 178 attacks on Ukrainian military positions. The Kostyantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors saw the highest number of assaults. In the Pokrovsk sector, according to preliminary data, Ukrainian forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy in terms of personnel and equipment. At the same time, combat operations in certain sections of the front continued even after 10:00 p.m.
The General Staff noted that there were no significant changes in the situation in other sectors.
