Russia launched a massive attack on Odesa; a child was among the victims
On the night of September 2, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Odesa using strike drones, “Banderol” munitions, and KAB bombs. The attack damaged the city’s residential, energy, and civilian infrastructure, and there are casualties.
According to Serhiy Lysak, a 24-story residential building was damaged as a result of the Russian attack. Apartments on several floors were destroyed, and windows were shattered in nearby buildings.

Oleg Kipper later clarified that apartments were damaged on floors 17 through 23. Residents’ cars were also damaged.
So far, eight people are known to have been injured as a result of the Russian attack. Among them is a 5-year-old child.
Two people were hospitalized.
In addition to residential buildings, office buildings and two educational institutions were damaged.
According to Oleg Kipper, the Russian strikes also damaged the facades and windows of two high schools, a five-story business center, and warehouse facilities.
“At one of the addresses, apartments on floors 17 through 23 of a 24-story residential building and residents’ cars were damaged... At other locations, the explosions damaged the facades and windows of two high schools, a five-story business center, and warehouse facilities,” the post stated.
The State Emergency Service also reported damage to a private enterprise, a summer cottage, and vehicles. In addition, a gas station was completely destroyed.
The fires caused by the attack have already been extinguished.
The Russian attack also caused power outages. Power companies and utility services are working to restore electricity.
“Emergency and utility services are working on the ground. Power companies are trying to restore electricity as quickly as possible. Emergency response centers have been set up for residents, where they can receive the necessary assistance,” Serhiy Lysak concluded.
Experts are currently continuing to assess the consequences of the massive attack in several districts of Odesa.

Russian troops attacked one of the industrial facilities in the Poltava district. Rescue workers were on the scene following the enemy strike.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops attacked 54 settlements in the Kherson region, using strike drones, aircraft, and artillery.
In the town of Vyshneve in the Bucha District of the Kyiv Region, a fire broke out in two townhouses as a result of an attack by a Russian strike drone. Structural damage was also reported.
Over the past day, Russian troops attacked settlements in the Sumy region 62 times. One person was killed and eight others were wounded as a result of the enemy strikes.
Rescue workers extinguished fires in three warehouses that broke out following a Russian attack on the Kyiv region. Firefighters put out the blazes at all three sites.
In Kyiv and several regions, an air raid alert was issued on the evening of September 1 at 6:24 p.m. due to the threat of Russian UAVs. The Ukrainian Air Force urged citizens to immediately seek shelter or follow the “two-wall rule” if safe premises were not accessible.
Ukraine is conducting combat tests of at least four jet interceptors designed to counter Russian jet drones.
