Liberation of Crimea is a priority for Ukraine - Refat Chubarov

During the international conference Crimea Global, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov emphasized the need to end the war with Russia, which began with the occupation of Crimea in 2014. According to him, the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity, including the liberation of Crimea and other occupied territories, is a critical task. Chubarov emphasized that failure in this case threatens the international legal system and could set a dangerous precedent for other countries.

The defense of Ukraine, Chubarov noted, is not only a local conflict, but a struggle for an international order built on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted that without achieving a just peace based on international law, the foundations of stability in the world may suffer; this could lead to the spread of aggression, where the forces of lawlessness will displace law.

In addition, Chubarov noted that Crimean Tatars continue to resist the occupation authorities and hope for changes this year. It is noted that the ultimate goal is not only the liberation of Crimea, but also the strengthening of the principles of peaceful conflict resolution at the international level.
