Capital Airport expects over 1.66 million passengers during China’s National Day — ECNS

Beijing Capital International Airport in China expects more than 1.66 million passenger trips during the National Day holiday period — from October 1 to 7, 2026. Average daily passenger traffic is forecast at around 237,000 people, ECNS reports, citing the airport.

Flight forecast and peak days

According to the airport’s estimates, it will handle 9,448 flights over the seven holiday days, or about 1,350 flights per day. The highest passenger traffic is expected on October 1 and 7, with more than 245,000 passengers anticipated on each of these days.

This year, there are only three working days between the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holidays, so many travelers have decided to extend their vacations. From September 25 to October 7, the airport forecasts more than 3.03 million passenger trips, or an average of 233,000 per day.

The airport has also launched an international version of an integrated service platform for passengers arriving from abroad. By scanning a QR code with their phones, they can access arrival card submission, flight information, airport transport, Wi-Fi connection, cultural and tourism products, and tax refunds before departure.
