Matthew Perry's assistant was convicted in connection with the actor's death

A Los Angeles court has found the personal assistant of "Friends" star Matthew Perry guilty in connection with the actor's death. He was convicted of involvement in administering a fatal dose of ketamine. The investigation found that the assistant helped arrange the injection of the drug, which proved fatal for the actor. The court’s decision was announced after reviewing the case materials and testimony from those involved in the proceedings.

This was reported by the BBC.

It is noted that the court sentenced 60-year-old Kenneth Iwamasa to 41 months in prison.

According to prosecutors, Iwamasa, who administered the ketamine injection to Perry, collaborated with two doctors to supply the actor with the drug, worth over $50,000, several weeks before his death.

However, the man had no medical training.

Iwamasa must also remain under supervision for two years after his release from prison and is required to pay a $10,000 fine.

He is scheduled to report to prison on July 17.

In August 2024, Iwamasa pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death.

He faced a maximum sentence of 15 years in a U.S. federal prison.

The doctor who supplied Matthew Perry with ketamine was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.
