NATO multinational brigade to hold Oak Projection exercise in Latvia
NATO's multinational brigade in Latvia will hold the Oak Projection exercise at the Selonia military training area from September 5 to 14. The maneuvers are intended to test and improve the units' ability to move, deploy and maintain combat capability away from their permanent location, LSM English reports.
Tactical tasks at the training area
According to Latvia's National Armed Forces, during the exercise, military personnel will carry out offensive and defensive tactical tasks. They will also practice operating in different conditions, interaction between units and maintaining combat capability after moving to the exercise area.
Oak Projection is part of the NATO multinational brigade in Latvia's preparation for larger-scale exercises planned for autumn.

Equipment movements and helicopter flights
The movement of military personnel and equipment to the Selonia training area will continue from September 4 to 7. Tracked equipment will be transported by rail, while columns of wheeled vehicles from the base in Adazi will travel by road in three separate groups to reduce the impact on traffic.
During the exercise period, Canadian Armed Forces CH-146 Griffon helicopters will also fly between the base in Adazi and the Selonia training area. From September 11 to 14, personnel and equipment will return to Adazi. Latvia's National Armed Forces called on residents to treat equipment movements, helicopter flights and possible temporary traffic congestion with understanding.
