Citizens advocate for restrictions on the use of alternative devices to fully align with the rules that apply to conventional tobacco.
The OpinionWay poll was commissioned by the well-known public organization “League Against Cancer.”
It clearly showed that 7 out of 10 French people support extending “smoke-free zone” rules not only to traditional tobacco but also to vapes.
The country’s residents want to see public spaces completely free of any form of smoking or vaping.
For over a year now, smoking has been legally banned in France on beaches, in parks, at bus stops, and near schools. Some municipalities did not wait for nationwide decisions and independently tightened local regulations.
In particular, cities such as Strasbourg have already implemented an expanded ban on the use of electronic cigarette alternatives.
