Britain has deployed troops due to the threat of Russian attacks on its undersea infrastructure

The United Kingdom has deployed its armed forces to protect its undersea infrastructure following the detection of Russian submarine activity in its waters.

This was announced by Defense Minister John Giley.

According to him, this winter, British forces, together with allies, including Norway, tracked and deterred the movement of the Russian fleet near cables and pipelines.

Gillie noted that information about the operation was released intentionally to demonstrate to Russia that its actions had been recorded.

“We see you. We see your activity near our cables and pipelines, and you should know that any attempt to damage them will have serious consequences,” he emphasized.

According to the minister, Russian submarines have already left British waters, and no damage to infrastructure has been reported.

London emphasizes that Russia’s attempt at a covert operation was exposed, and the situation has been brought under control.

Britain is convening 35 countries for talks on unblocking the Strait of Hormuz without the U.S.

British Ambassador to Ukraine Neil Crompton stated that the issue of using frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine remains relevant.
