Britain and NATO countries will send minesweepers to the Strait of Hormuz – Trump

The United Kingdom and several other NATO countries will join efforts to clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines left behind by Iran. 

Trump said this in an interview with Fox News.

The American leader noted that despite disappointment over insufficient support in the war with Iran, partners are ready to provide traditional minesweepers to assist modern U.S. underwater systems. This decision aims to ensure the safety of navigation in the region amid the blockade and the threat of escalation from Russia and its allies. According to Trump, the involvement of international forces is critically important to counter Tehran’s illegal actions. Coordination between allied naval forces is currently underway to launch a joint operation.

Peace talks between the U.S. and Iran, which lasted 21 hours in Islamabad, ended without results. 

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakai stated that significant differences on several strategic issues prevented the conclusion of an agreement with the United States in Islamabad.
