Italy Will Step Up Its Support for Ukraine with a New Aid Package
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced that a new aid package for Ukraine is being prepared. Details regarding its contents and scope have not yet been specified.
Tajani confirmed that the government remains committed to Ukraine’s security, reconstruction, and defense, including through the new Italian aid package currently being prepared.
“Italy’s efforts to ensure Ukraine’s security, reconstruction, and defense continue, particularly through a new Italian package of measures in addition to support for EU sanctions,” Tajani wrote.
The minister reaffirmed the Italian government’s full support for achieving a just and lasting peace as soon as possible.
Tajani also emphasized the strategic role of the Black Sea and the entire Mediterranean region for global food security and the uninterrupted export of grain from Ukraine.
“We will continue to work to maintain maximum pressure on Moscow,” he stated.
The minister also announced that he had decided to illuminate the Foreign Ministry building with the colors of the Ukrainian flag as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
