CEPICI approves $1.45 billion in investment in Côte d’Ivoire in 2025

In Côte d’Ivoire, the state-run Investment Promotion Centre, CEPICI, approved 154 projects worth 812.67 billion CFA francs, or about $1.45 billion, in 2025. This is 9.6% more than the 741.46 billion CFA francs approved in 2024, The Rio Times reports.

Gap between plans and mobilized funds

According to CEPICI, under the National Development Plan for 2021–2025, the country actually mobilized 4.242 trillion CFA francs in private investment. This represents 66% of the target of 6.4 trillion CFA francs set for that period. Thus, the shortfall in mobilized private capital amounted to 34% of the planned figure.

The agency also reported that its one-stop-shop service helped create 26,948 new companies in 2025. CEPICI aims to focus on the actual implementation of approved investment projects, rather than only on their approval.

New plan through 2030

Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan for 2026–2030 envisages total investment needs of 114,838.5 billion CFA francs, or approximately $205 billion. Of this amount, 70.2% is expected to come from the private sector.

In 2023, 49% of invested funds came from Côte d’Ivoire, while 51% came from abroad. The largest foreign investors were Burkina Faso with an 11% share and Turkey with 7%; China and France were also named among the main sources of capital.

In early September 2026, a CEPICI delegation led by Director General Solange Amichia held talks in Shanghai with China’s Xinyi Glass Group on a $150 million automotive glass plant in Côte d’Ivoire. A feasibility study for the project is scheduled for October 2026. If implemented, it will be Xinyi Glass Group’s first plant in Africa.
