Nine EU countries want to cut off funding to the IOC because it allowed Russian athletes to compete
Nine European Union member states have called on the European Commission to review funding for the International Olympic Committee and sports organizations that allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions.
Estonia initiated the appeal. The countries called for the exclusion of the IOC and relevant federations from EU support programs due to their stance on allowing representatives from Russia and Belarus to compete.
Estonia initiated the appeal. It was joined by Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Finland, and Sweden.
In addition, these EU countries proposed reconsidering the participation of these sports federations in future discussions and events related to the development of sports in Europe.

Earlier, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine called the IOC’s decision to allow Russians to compete “shameful.”
