A man who found Hitler's missing gold has reached out to Trump – Daily Star

Ian Seyer, an 80-year-old researcher, has called on Donald Trump to release all U.S. government files covered by the Act on the Disclosure of Information Regarding Nazi War Crimes. The researcher is convinced that the still-classified materials contain information that will help locate valuables stolen by the Nazi regime and return them to their rightful heirs or the people to whom they belong.

Seier is the only private investigator who has managed to find missing Nazi gold. Thanks to his years-long investigation, in 1996 he was able to trace the fate of two gold bars bearing swastikas, worth $3.23 million, which had disappeared from an American vault in Munich in 1945 and ended up at the German Bundesbank.

The man provided the ingot serial numbers, the deposit date, and the bank and account details. But it took him five years and eight months to convince U.S. officials to verify this information.  When the State Department finally approached Germany, the Bundesbank acknowledged that it did indeed possess the bars bearing swastikas. In 1996, they were transferred to the Bank of England’s vaults and sold as scrap metal.

According to the researcher, full disclosure of the archives would make it possible to locate significantly more looted valuables.

Argentine authorities have released more than 1,800 documents related to Nazis who fled to the country after the end of World War II. Among the names mentioned are Josef Mengele, the “Angel of Death from Auschwitz,” and Adolf Eichmann, the “architect of the Holocaust.”

The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration has released approximately 10,000 pages of materials related to the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy—the brother of the 35th U.S. president. Access to these documents was granted by order of Donald Trump.
