Portugal's second-largest city is introducing free public transportation

In Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city, a decision has been made to introduce free public transportation for local residents. The initiative covers the entire Andante transit network, including the metro, STCP and Unir buses, commuter trains, trams, and the future ferry service to Vila Nova de Gaia.

The introduction of free public transportation was one of Mayor Pedro Duarte’s key campaign promises. The financial cost of implementing the project is estimated at 20–25 million euros per year. To cover these costs, the city government is considering raising the tourist tax to 4 euros, which would bring it in line with Lisbon’s rate.

This was reported by Euronews.

Klitschko signed an order to raise public transportation fares in Kyiv effective July 15.

Starting July 15, new fares for minibuses will take effect in the Vinnytsia city community. The cost of a ride on most routes will double—from 15 to 30 hryvnias.
