Durov personally debunked the fake poll results posted by a Z-blogger on Telegram

Z-blogger Alexander Kartavikh conducted a poll on his Telegram channel to find out which party his subscribers would vote for if the State Duma elections were held tomorrow. However, the result was personally refuted by Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov.

This was reported by Telegram channels.

In the blogger’s poll, Putin’s “United Russia” party won by a wide margin, reportedly garnering 40% of the vote. Of the 198,000 people who participated in the poll, 80,000 voted for the party.

Afterward, Pavel Durov commented on Kartavy’s post.

“Indeed, the overwhelming majority of votes for United Russia (>90%) in this poll were added by bots from exotic countries. The bots have been blocked, but the votes have not yet been deleted. Work is underway on additional features to combat bots in polls,” he wrote.

At the same time, Kartavykh noted that votes were not only inflated for “United Russia.” The first to “flood” the votes were for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, followed by “Fair Russia.”

As a reminder, Muscovites have been standing in line for hours at President Vladimir Putin’s reception office to complain about the blocking of Telegram and WhatsApp.

Recently, the Penza city administration banned a protest against the blocking of Telegram, scheduled for March 29 in the local Hyde Park. Activist Ivan Finogeyev reported that officials justified the refusal by stating that an open rollerblading training session would be taking place at the same time.

Earlier, Mikhail Oseevsky, head of the Russian company Rostelecom, claimed there had been a sharp drop in traffic on the Telegram messaging app.
