Yemen calls for stronger coordination for shipping security — Asharq Al-Awsat
The Yemeni delegation to the multinational maritime coalition called for stronger regional coordination and the unification of international efforts to counter threats to shipping security. The delegation is headed by Rear Admiral Abdul Khaliq Monser, Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
Support for naval forces
Monser stressed the need for operational and technical support to restore the readiness of the Yemeni naval forces. According to him, this should enable them to carry out tasks to protect territorial waters and international shipping routes.
He said that ongoing threats from the Houthis in the Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden have directly affected international shipping security, trade, and global supply chains.

Fighting near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait
The Yemeni armed forces said they repelled an attempt by the Houthis to infiltrate the Al-Fulayha sector in southern Marib province. According to their data, 12 Houthi fighters were killed in the clashes, several others were wounded, and the rest retreated.
Yemen's government forces are also continuing to counter Houthi attempts to establish control over high ground east of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and west of Taiz. Intense fighting continued over the past day in the Kahbub and Al-Waziya directions, while airstrikes targeted Houthi gatherings and vehicles.
Two Houthi sources told AFP that specialists from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had visited the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area. They claimed that the specialists discussed installing radars near the area and supervised the construction of tunnels in mountain hills above Mocha and the strait.
