Erdogan said Turkey is working to resume peace talks

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Ankara is working to resume the negotiation process to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to him, Turkey is continuing its diplomatic efforts aimed at bringing the parties back to the negotiating table and finding ways to end the hostilities.

Erdogan made the statement during a phone call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, his office reported.

“Our president noted that Turkey is making efforts to ensure that the war between Russia and Ukraine ends in a lasting peace, and is working to resume negotiations and revitalize the diplomatic process,” the statement said.

During the conversation, Erdogan also expressed hope that the NATO leaders’ summit, to be held in Ankara in July, would demonstrate a firm commitment to strengthening Europe’s defense within the framework of NATO and preserving the “transatlantic bond.”

This was reported by the Communications Directorate of the President of Turkey on Monday.

Navrotsky discussed with Erdogan the end of the war in Ukraine.

Erdogan spoke of a crisis in global development and values and called for a stronger role for diplomacy.

In addition, more than ten countries have expressed their readiness to join an international mission in the Strait of Hormuz. This operation is intended to protect shipping following tensions in the region.

Natural gas prices in Europe have plummeted: prices on the TTF hub fell below 40 euros per megawatt-hour following news of the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and indications of possible progress in negotiations between the parties.
