The EU will step up pressure on Russia following the massive strikes on Ukraine

European Council President António Costa stated that the European Union will continue its policy of imposing sanctions on Russia following yet another massive attack on Ukrainian cities.

He wrote about this on social media platform X.

In his social media post, he called Russia’s strikes on Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Kharkiv “horrific” and emphasized that the attacks were directed against civilian targets.

Koshta noted that, according to him, Russian forces deliberately carried out repeated strikes on emergency services as rescuers arrived at the sites of the attacks.

He expressed his condolences to the families of the dead and injured, and stated that Russia “must end the war of terror” and agree to a just and lasting peace in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.

The head of the European Council also confirmed that the EU will continue to support Ukraine and intensify sanctions pressure on Russia.

As a reminder, the aftermath of the shelling in Kyiv’s Obolon district was shown.
