The European Commission will launch a platform for testing military technologies in Ukraine

The European Commission has announced the launch of a new platform that will enable the testing of military technologies in real combat conditions.

This was reported by the European Commission’s press service.

The initiative is a continuation of the BraveTech EU program—a joint project aimed at accelerating the implementation of innovations in the defense sector and supporting the Ukrainian defense industry.

The budget for the new platform is €35 million. Its main goal is to accelerate the testing and implementation of priority defense technologies directly in combat conditions in Ukraine.

The European Commission notes that the first selection rounds are scheduled for June 2026, while field testing and technology evaluation are set to begin in the fall of 2026 in cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine.

Officials in Brussels emphasize that the project aims to bridge the gap between European scientific research and the needs of the front lines, as well as to strengthen the European Union’s defense sector and provide Ukraine with practical support during the war.

The German federal government is considering joining Ukraine’s Brave1 defense innovation program and deepening its long-term partnership in the defense industry.

Germany is strengthening its cooperation with Ukraine in the defense sector and adopting its experience in developing modern military technologies that are tested directly in combat conditions. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

Germany recently delivered three cogeneration units to Ukraine for the Chernihiv region, which are intended to ensure a stable supply of heat and electricity. This equipment will be able to meet the needs of tens of thousands of residents and the city’s critical infrastructure.

Germany is expanding its military exchange program and actively involving Ukrainian instructors with real combat experience in the training of Bundeswehr units to adapt its army to the conditions of modern warfare. Ukrainian military personnel are already working at key training schools and passing on practical skills gained on the front lines.
