Ronaldo's fake wedding drew a crowd of over 2,000 people outside the cathedral
False rumors about the wedding of Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez drew a crowd of over 2,000 people to the cathedral in Funchal on the Portuguese island of Madeira.
In reality, the couple getting married that day at the cathedral were local natives Fábio and Nicole, who had traveled from France for the ceremony. Because of the crowd, the bride even had to make her way to the entrance with the help of her friends.
Prior to this, fake invitations to Ronaldo’s wedding had circulated on social media, and a number of media outlets published unconfirmed reports about the allegedly planned ceremony. The soccer player’s representatives did not confirm this.
Later, Ronaldo’s sister, Elma Aveiro, criticized those who believed the rumors, while the soccer player himself reacted to the situation with laughing emojis.
