Fidan announces creation of Mecca Alliance headquarters — Anadolu Agency
In Türkiye, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the Mecca Alliance, formed last month by Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, is at an advanced stage. The next stage, he said, should involve appointing personnel and establishing the association’s headquarters, Anadolu Agency reports.
Institutionalization
In an interview with Turkish broadcaster NTV, Fidan said the initiative has strong political will behind it and that Ankara is working on its practical implementation. In his assessment, the Mecca Alliance could become a platform that significantly changes the situation.
After institutionalization, the alliance’s participants may discuss the accession of new states. Fidan noted that the association is open to countries in the region.

Fidan’s regional statements
The Turkish foreign minister also commented on statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Türkiye. In Fidan’s view, such rhetoric is aimed at strengthening Netanyahu’s domestic political position ahead of elections in Israel on October 27.
Separately, Fidan spoke about the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into the Syrian state and army, noting the parties’ desire to advance this process in a controlled manner. Regarding the crisis in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area, he said that existing initiatives must produce concrete results. Speaking about the understanding reached between Iran and the United States, the minister stated that the parties interpret the current process differently in accordance with their own interests.
