France has developed the Chorus drone with a range of 3,000 km — Zone Militaire

The French Ministry of Defense has joined forces with industrial giants Turgis Gaillard and Renault to develop a new strike drone called "Chorus."

This was reported by Zone Militaire.

The new aircraft is designed to be a powerful long-range strike asset, combining a long flight range with a relatively low production cost.

According to preliminary data, “Chorus” will be capable of covering distances of up to 3,000 kilometers, making it one of the longest-range systems in its class.

The drone’s technical specifications include the ability to carry a 500-kilogram payload at a cruising speed of approximately 400 km/h.

It is noteworthy that the developers are drawing on the successful experience of the Ukrainian “Flamingo” winged missile system, although the French counterpart will be inferior to it in terms of speed and warhead weight.

One of the project’s main advantages is its cost-effectiveness: the expected cost per unit will be approximately 100,000 euros.

The use of a turbojet engine will ensure the necessary flight dynamics while maintaining the availability of components for potential assembly line deployment.

Despite its impressive specifications, the French Ministry of Defense currently has no plans to order the “Chorus” for the mass rearmament of its own army.

Patrick Paille explained this decision by the desire to avoid stockpiling large quantities of equipment that could quickly become obsolete amid rapid technological advancements.
