The FSB detained several young men in connection with a protest involving bloody hammers near officials' homes
In Moscow, FSB officers detained two brothers, one of whom is a minor, in connection with an incident involving hammers with traces of red liquid left near the apartments of Roskomnadzor employees.
According to Russian law enforcement, the suspects allegedly acted on the instructions of “handlers” whom they met via the Telegram messenger under the guise of working for detective and debt collection agencies.
The incident occurred on April 28—when, according to the FSB, they carried out “intimidation campaigns” at the residential addresses of several Roskomnadzor officials.
A criminal case has been opened under the article on hooliganism. The suspects face imprisonment.
The FSB also released a video of the arrest, in which the suspects are giving testimony.
There is currently no independent confirmation of the Russian security forces’ statements.
In the Russian city of Ukhta (Republic of Komi), two men were killed whom the FSB suspects of planning a terrorist attack on an oil infrastructure facility.
The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation reported that it had allegedly foiled an assassination attempt against the leadership of Roskomnadzor, which, according to their version, was being prepared with the involvement of Ukrainian special services.
