British Foreign Secretary Miliband met with Kaia Kallas for the first time
British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband held his first meeting since his appointment with the European Union’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas.
Miliband announced the meeting on social media platform X, posting a joint photo with Kallas. According to him, under the new government, the UK plans to deepen its strategic partnership with Europe through closer ties between London and the EU.
“Building our defense and security partnership is vital for us, both at home and abroad. At the meeting with Kaja Kallas, we agreed to work together to strengthen Ukraine, ensure growth, and bolster defense,” the British minister stated.
The day before, on July 22, EU ambassadors approved the UK’s participation in supporting Ukraine’s defense through a 90 billion euro loan. Miliband held his first phone call as British Foreign Secretary with Ukraine’s Acting Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, according to “European Truth.”
