Russian Ambassador Accuses Denmark of Involvement in Incident Involving Russian Frigate
The Russian ambassador in Copenhagen stated that it was a Danish military helicopter whose maneuvers allegedly “provoked” the Russian frigate.
Russian Ambassador Vladimir Barbin said that the Russian side plans to investigate the circumstances of the incident, but claimed that this was not the first time the Danish military had “carried out dangerous maneuvers near Russian military vessels,” and that the Danish helicopter “behaved provocatively.”
“Attempts by the Danish side to explain the helicopter’s provocative actions toward the Russian frigate as ‘routine practice’ raise serious concerns about the potential consequences of such negligence,” the Russian diplomat said.
He added that Copenhagen, he claimed, had never expressed any interest in preventing escalation at sea or in implementing confidence-building measures.
“Russia’s repeated proposals to explore the possibility of an agreement on the prevention of incidents at sea—one that would cover both the sea and the airspace above these waters—have been consistently rejected by the Danish side,” the ambassador stated.
At the same time, the Danish Ministry of Defense emphasized that the armed forces’ helicopter had entirely legitimate reasons to maneuver where it did.

In the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, an enemy drone struck the roof of a four-story business center. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to investigate the circumstances and address the aftermath of the incident.
