Estonia's Foreign Minister called the photo "Moscow in Flames"

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna posted a photo on his social media accounts showing the aftermath of a large-scale Ukrainian drone strike on the Moscow Oil Refinery, which took place on June 18, 2026. The diplomat called this image “Photo of the Day.”

The published photo quickly went viral online, as it captured a unique moment of the attack on fuel infrastructure in the Russian capital. The force of the explosion at the facility was so powerful that the resulting shock wave completely ripped off and sent the massive metal roof of one of the refinery’s industrial tanks flying several meters into the air.

“Today’s ‘Photo of the Day’ was taken in Moscow,” the post reads.

This was reported on the official social media page of an Estonian government official.

A massive drone attack on Moscow has sparked a wave of outrage and division across Russia’s regions.

In Balashikha, near Moscow, local residents are reporting unusual effects of the rain—black, oily stains with a burning smell are left on clothing, cars, and other surfaces.

In five cities in the Moscow region, 16 people sustained injuries of varying severity as a result of falling debris and the chaotic response of Russian air defenses during the drone attack.

The Russian State Duma responded to the record-breaking attack on Moscow.

Madyar pointed out the inscription on the drones that attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery for the third time.
