Estonia's Foreign Minister Responds to Russia's Massive Strike on Kyiv
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna commented on Russia’s massive attack on Ukrainian regions on the night of May 14. According to the diplomat, the shelling of Kyiv and other cities once again confirms the Kremlin’s true intentions toward Ukraine.
The Estonian diplomat wrote about this on social media platform X.
The head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry emphasized that strikes with drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles indicate Russia’s unwillingness to end the war.
“If anyone still needed proof that Russia has not abandoned its goals, here it is,” Tsahkna wrote.
The minister stressed that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin seeks to continue the aggression and destroy Ukraine. In this regard, international partners must continue to support Kyiv and increase pressure on Moscow.
“Strengthening Ukraine’s position and making Russia realize that its strategy is failing is the only path to genuine and lasting peace,” noted the Estonian foreign minister.
As a reminder, on the night of May 14, Russia launched a combined massive strike on Kyiv, using ballistic missiles and drones. Explosions and falling debris were reported in the Shevchenkivskyi, Pecherskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, Solomianskyi, Desnianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts of the capital.
The attack damaged residential buildings, a business center, a car dealership, garages, and vehicles.
The most critical situation arose in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. There, a nine-story residential building collapsed after being hit. A search-and-rescue operation is currently underway at the site, as people may still be trapped under the rubble.
In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, the body of another victim was recovered from the rubble of a high-rise building. Thus, the death toll from the Russian attack has risen to three. Search and rescue operations are ongoing; 28 people have already been rescued.
As a reminder, on the night of May 14, an air raid alert lasted nearly eight hours in Kyiv. In the Kyiv region, seven people were injured as a result of the Russian attack, including a three-year-old child. In Kyiv, more than 30 people have been wounded following the massive shelling.
