Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi spoke in Ukrainian at a general meeting of ambassadors in Kyiv, where he served as the guest of honor. This was reported by “European Truth.”
Popșoi was present during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s speech and his discussion with the ambassadors. The moderator invited the Moldovan minister to speak in English, but he began speaking in Ukrainian, after which the ambassadors applauded him. Popșoi’s speech lasted more than seven minutes and was delivered entirely in Ukrainian.
The minister thanked Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, noting that Moldova has tried to stand by them every day. “Our children sleep peacefully because Ukrainian children, soldiers, doctors, rescue workers, and ordinary citizens have endured horrors that no nation should ever have to endure. This is a debt that no neighbor can ever fully repay,” he said.

According to Popșoi, during Moldova’s presidency of the Council of Europe, a Special Tribunal on the Crime of Aggression was launched. He stated that lasting peace is impossible without justice and accountability.
Popșoi also mentioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decree of May 8, which allowed Putin to hold a “surreal parade.” The Moldovan minister said that mentioning this document noticeably lifted his spirits, prompting laughter in the hall.
