The German Foreign Minister Wants to Discuss Personnel Changes in the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Sibiga
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful plans to discuss with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga the personnel decisions in the Ukrainian Armed Forces made by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to “European Truth,” citing DW, the German minister stated that the talks will take place in the near future. The parties are expected to discuss the overall security situation, as well as personnel changes in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. “I would like to understand many of them,” said Wadeful.
He also noted that for Ukraine to advance on its path toward the European Union, the government must continue reforms to establish the rule of law, democracy, and parliamentary government. According to Wadeful, Germany will continue to support Ukraine politically, economically, and financially.
On the evening of July 21, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the dismissal of Oleksandr Syrskyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and announced the appointment of Mykhailo Drapatyi to that position. The following day, decrees regarding the change in the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were published on the President’s website. Drapaty stated that he had been tasked with continuing and intensifying offensive operations and building up the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
